You want to take the “Real Estate Sales Associate” class (look for the ones specifically that say “PRE-LICENSING” you're not doing the 45-hour or 14-hour class that’s for AFTER you have a license)
In-person classes: - https://www.myfrei.com/salespeople.htm
Online classes: Make sure it’s the Sales Associate Course – Florida Real Estate Principles, Practices & Law 63-Hour Course with Timed Exam - https://www.myfrei.com/dlcourses.htm#SA1
Fingerprinting Process
Read all the information concerning the fingerprinting process and pay close attention to the locations – these are the only places that you may do the fingerprinting, FOLLOW their instructions to the “T”.
Keep an eye on your DBPR application and give them any missing documents, you want to get this application all the way completed except for the class test. That way once you pass the class test you can register for the state exam.
Finish the class and pass the class test.
Register for the state exam once DBPR has fully cleared you to take the test. You must have passed the class test and it must show up on the DBPR site that you are approved to take the state exam.
Looks like they are currently partnering with Pearson VUE for testing so you will schedule the test here - https://home.pearsonvue.com/
You will find out your score immediately after you’re done taking the test. (The front desk will most likely give it to you)
If you passed great, you are ready to find a brokerage and start making money!
If you didn’t pass – don’t worry, try again! You have options. You can request to review your test, however, if you do that, I believe there is a waiting period of 30 days or so to take it again. If you don’t review the test, you should be able to call and schedule again whenever they have an opening.
You Passed!
Congratulations, you are licensed! It usually takes 2 business days to get your license number issued by DBPR. Once you have that you can hang your license with a brokerage.
When you find the brokerage, you want to work with, you will need to complete whatever paperwork they have to move your license forward.
There are several costs associated with joining a board so make sure you are ready for that before you join a brokerage.
